Mushrooms <3

So, I went on a mushrooming foray with the Boston Mycological Club. It was…interesting, to say the least. I basically walked around in the martitime forest all day on Cape Cod, taking pictures for Photography class, and enjoying the ocean air and the gorgeous day. I saw a duo of gray seals in the water. They are so much bigger than harbor seals, I had never realized. Such funny looking heads. ^^

In other news, I’m a bit behind on the comic, but I don;t think that should be a problem. I mean, that’s what a buffer is for, right? Right? It is too. Shut up.

For your little dose of previewage…vote on Buzz! ^^;;

Faire-ly well…

So, chickies, I went to King Richard’s Faire, today, and it twas AWESOMETASTIC! I have a lovely bodice now, so I can squish my tits with something pretty. No, seriously, I can’t breathe, bend over or stretch, but at least I have cleavage. ^^;;
Also, I now have a tail and horns, as well as a new CD. And I got to walk around in long skirts and two shirts in 80 degree weather, with minimal water and sticky fried fair food, but it was a ridiculous amount of fun.

Sorry I haven’t been updating as of late, school has eaten me…again… this past week has sucked as far as photography class goes. two rolls of film, shot. *sigh*

Oh, and this is a funny test:
I'm a lesbian first lady. Woo

…oh course, I’m just an infamous one in reality… wait… I mean… um… non-famous… of course… er… ^^;

As to children, dogs, and life, among other things.

So, I’ve been variously occupied as of late, what with life, dogs, children, and other things. ^^ But actaully, those just tonight. I played music with toddlers, and kept the dogs from licking them or knocking them over. We also had food.

Something semi-dramatic happened on the school bus the other day. Jamie got a call on his cell, and apparently his mother was in a hot-air-balloon accident. I kid you not. It was on the news. They got caught in a downdraft, and had to make an emergency landing. They took out two telephone poles. His mother was the only one hurt; sustaining minor burns.

As for comic news: tomorrow marks the LAST PAGE OF CHAPTER FIVE! WOOOOT! ^^ No preview today, since I haven’t been scanning lately. >>

je ne comprehende pas.

Great, there I go again with the french! spanish is what I’m supposed to be learning. argh *head desk* And I probably misspelled that too, as it’s been a few years since french class. but I digress.

What I don’t understand (er, comprehend) is people. They’re so… HUMAN! It’s annoying.

Life is not so bad though. Really. I got new music the other day. find 75 Septembers by Cheryl Wheeler. It’s good!

For your little glimpse of what the future holds… behold… the FIRE of the might sun-god fallinh upon the heathen savages. BWAHAHAHA…. no, seriously, it’s OMG BACKSTORY! *bounces* doom upon you all, for it’s five pages of Yasmin-ful interlude. Then chapter six, and a grand ball. but I;m getting ahead of myself now. ^^

Sorry, it’s been a while…

Oh, school ate me. I haven’t posted since… since before the first day of school. So, I’ll update cha. It wasn’t as bad as I had imagined, really. Riding the school bus for the first time in six years proved to me that I’ve lived long enough to have something to be nostaligic about. I feel old. Seeing the people I used to know was strange. But my friend Bridget’s firends welcomed me graciously. They seem to be nice people. Weird, atypical, funky, non-popular. Me likey.

In other news, the comic is going well. I thought I’d get behind, but I haven’t. I’m going to post the new fall update schedule soon, sometime this weekend.

PoI trivia: In my original version of PoI, that never got put on paper, it begins with the scene in what is now chapter six. A lot less Lark, a lot more Jerry’s friends. ^^

A lovely little preview of Page 104, the last page of Chapter 5. *punches air*

Over schedule-ness abounds

Indeed it does, verily! I’m busybusybusy all the time lately (as of late). *sigh* I even had to cut the comic updation down to two days a week. Sorry my pretties, but with no buffer and a new inking style that takes twice as long as my old one, AND me having become super busy and more than a bit stressed, I couldn’t handle three days a week. I feel really, really, really guilty about it, though.

I’ve been trying to write again, however. If I become to busy to write and draw, I know I must be doing something wrong. I must keep my priorities striaght, and not much is more important than my creative ventures. If I don’t do them constantly, I won’t improve, and if I don’t improve, I’ll never be published, and if I’m not published, I’ll die in abject poverty in some forgotten corner of the world without leaving my vision for the generations to follow. Providing of course, that the world doesn’t end before then.

I’ve been considering majoring in english when I go to college, which is a few years, so doesn’t really matter (at the moment, at any rate). I’d like to be an editor someday, I think. Or rather, I’d like to be an author, but that doesn’t pay so I’d like to be an editor who has time to write. ^^

I’m Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Harken! For I hath returned from Maine!

Camp was alot of fun. I almost dyed my hair blue, did a ton of henna tattoos, and stayed up all night watching movies. I also saw a meteor shower, made a tape mural, met amazing people, talked about serious stuff, talked about silly stuff, and ate ice cream. A lot of ice cream.

I also was introduced to the music of Regina Spektor, Two amazing books ( Gospel of the Flying Spagetti Monster and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy ), and teen alcohol use. No, I didn’t drink. I just saw some one being drunk and stupid and underage all at once. ick. anyways……..

I didn’t get much sketching done, but oh well. I’ll catch up, I hope. Speaking of which I might have to change the update schedule when school starts. I might go to just weekends, or something like, until I get used to the whole school thing. *sigh*

Speaking of school, I’m going school shopping today. Mostly for fall clothing, and notebooks, and such.

I went to the Eastern Mass Rhythm Fest yesterday. Some pics, and one of (part of) my henna:

Dance!
No, I don’t belly dance. I’d like to learn though.

Drum!
Me and my father, at teh festival. Those are staff shirts we’re wearing, btw. ^^

Henna Tattoo
merely a small section of my henna crazy tattoos. ^^

That’s all! see yas!

Off to camp is me!

So, as we leave tomorrow morning, this is a temporary fare-the-well. I’ll be in maine for seven days, then in western mass for the drumming festival my father helps to organize. A busy week indeed. But I’ll bring my sketchbook (of course) and I’ll be drawing away the whole time. hopefully I’ll produce a decent amount of new pages for y’all… although I’ll have to wait to do inking till I get home, as I can’t bring all my inking stuffs to camp with me.

It’s a photography camp, which I’m rather excited about. *click* ^^

For your dose of preview:
Yas and Gem
This page will be up next sunday, I think.

I just did the page after that one today. It’s the first page I’ve done with real actual ink and brush (I did another one with black watercolor acting as ink, which isn’t the same.). It looks great! I’m so excited about it, but you guyses don’t get to see it until next tuesday! *sticks out tongue* ^^

love and hisses (what, you expected kisses? from me? hahahaha…*hiss*),

blog blog blogity blog…

I’m blogging for the simple reason that I have nothing better to do. Actually, I have plenty of better things to do, including going outside and getting some nice healthy UV rays to roast my poor, poor, pale skin. But I disgress.

I went to the beach yesterday, in between the thunderstorms and the perpetual drizzel. We actually found a short half hour of glorious sunlight, and used it to our full advantage. Unfortunately, I had to leave the water early after a rather freak accident gave me a nose bleed. What happened was I was going to dive under a wave, but as I went under I held my nose. The turbulence yanked my hand free, then made me stab myself on the nose with my thumbnail. And ooooh, a cut in salt water stings like heck!

I’ve been comicking like a crazy person to get enough done for when I go away next week. I won’t have enough and still have a buffer though. *sigh* I’m still behind since the last time I went to camp… >> If I still don’t have a buffer when I go to school, the comic might have to have a short hiatus… which is baaaaaad… *sigh*

Dom Young <lil’ preview of that filler…

But anyways, the summer is going well. Can’t wait for camp this coming week!

so…

So, I seem to have this thing mostly figured out. The add a page thing is nifty, I must say. The only thing I had trouble with was uploading a new custom header image. *sigh* But I’ll do that later, I guess. So, as this is a blog, I ought to blog, I suppose.

The weather has been hot, as it is august, this is hardly surprising. However, tis rather annoying. It has it’s upsides though. For example, going to the beach daily. That is certainly an upside.

In other news, the comic work is going well, despite the fact I’ve been crazy busy. I’ve scripted to page 104 (the last page of chapter 5) and drawn and scanned to page 90. I’m sketching page 91 now. Carriages are hard
